New FIFA Street confirmed for 2008
Street life returns...
EA have revealed that a brand new FIFA Street title - number three in the series - will arrive on the PS3 and Xbox 360 come the spring of next year. Stylistically, the new title will represent something of an overhaul for the series, with a more over-the-top, cartoon-like motif on the cards.
Caricatures of top players are on the cards, and there will also be special abilities. You'll use these by accruing points on the 'Game Breaker' bar, stringing together moves and passes until you're able to unlock a special ability - a super-duper shot - or something equally special.
Players will be divided into classes based on their skills, and there will 250 to choose from, adding another tactical layer to the game. The controls have been simplified, making showing-off easier, and all in all the publisher seem eager to parade this new signing.
"The power of the next generation hardware gives us the horsepower to break new ground for consumers, making it the perfect stage to enjoy a multiplayer, sports action arcade experience. Casual gamers and sports fans can expect a simplified control system that makes it easier to perform spectacular moves and enjoy the game with friends, yet still be a challenging experience for more seasoned gamers," beams producer Joe Nickolls.
More as we get it.
