Following on from previous rumours that Team ICO have a new game in the works, the latest issue of Game Informer perpetuates the speculation with rumblings of a title called "The Last Canyon". The game apparently involves exploring a desert similar to Death Valley for something mysterious.

Add to this the fact that hero will get around via a simple glider that you be mounted and dismounted, and you have a design that seems much akin to Team Ico's previous games. The excerpt (which we are yet to see for ourselves) says "from what we've seen there's never before been that feeling of flying around in the sky, combined with this scale of environment."

Team ICO were responsible for some of the PS2's most ambitious and well received games. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus have become legends in their own right. The combination of novel free roaming game play and expansive environments gives the games an otherworldly feel.

Once Game Informer is out and in our hot little paws we'll be able to get back and confirm the rumours. Until then we'll just have to hold our breath.
