It may be grey and autumnal outside but there's a distinct sense of excitement in the air here at play.tm today after firing up the PC’s to find that Valve have been as good as their word and unlocked the Orange Box collection of games on it's Steam download service.

While the games have been sat on our hard drives for a few days now thanks to the preload option it's only as of around 8am this morning that we've been finally able to actually play them. Expect a full review as soon as we've had a chance to get to grips with the massive amount of gaming goodness on offer.

The Orange Box consists of Half Life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 as well as the original Half Life 2 and its first episodic sequel Half Life 2: Episode 1. Those of you with an Xbox 360 or who are waiting for a boxed PC copy will have to wait a few more days till the 19th of October to get your hands on a copy, while PS3 owners can expect a slightly longer wait as no official release date has been announced at the moment.
