In news that will most excite those who have experienced Shadow of the Colossus or the original Ico, Team ICO have recently let slip that that a further edition of the series is more than fan fantasy. The admission came in a response to a fan-letter published in the Official PlayStation Magazine.

Anyone who has played the aforementioned games will appreciate the weight of such a statement. In one of the most grown-up of PS2 franchises, director Fumitu Ueda achieved more emotive story with his world and art style than many other games with their verbose writing efforts. The game provided an otherworldly quality that is both poignant and majestic; presenting themselves as something like a grown-up's Zelda, they adequately managed to out trump Nintendo's franchise for atmosphere.

The prospect of an ICO game on the PS3 (or other consoles) is certainly enough to get the PlayTM juices going. This is a story that we'll be watching closely over the coming months, and of course will report back with any further tidbits.
