With word reaching us yesterday that the PS3 Starter Pack deal will end in Australia come September, we learn the European pack could be similarly halted come the summer's conclusion.

While at the time of the Australian announcement Sony stated the European deal would be ongoing, Sony are privately telling dissatisfied gamers that the current pack will end this summer. This admission was made in emails to gamers complaining that they purchased the 425 GBP system prior to the introduction of the Starter deal.

"I was sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with regards to the launch of the PlayStation 3 Starter Pack. I would like to take this opportunity to stress that this is a summer promotion and that due to the nature of this offer it will end on a predetermined date," reads the SCEE email, unturfed by Eurogamer.net.

Sony concede the emails exist but won't comment on any pre-determined date. Instead, we're expecting more news at Leipzig later this month.

Special Offers come and go and Price drops were to be expected. Nobody forced anbody to buy a PS3 at launch and If you are annoyed with the recent Bundle deals It's your own fault.

If you really wanted to save a few quid you should wait til 2012 when the PS3 will be on sale for £ 100.

I keep hearing the "theres no games for it yet" comments, usually from owners of a certain microsoft console. However i seems to remember the games for the 360 after launch were no where near as good as the ones available for the ps3 at launch. But hey thats coming from someone who walked past the 360s in store and decided to pay more money for a console with less games.
Hmm now why would anyone do that when the 360 is obviously sooo good?
