Sony Computer Entertainment Australia are planning to cease sales of the PS3 Starter Pack from August 31st, bringing to an end the bundle which offered the console, two controllers and two first-party titles. The bundle was only introduced at the beginning of August.

Despite Sony Australia's 999 AUD deal coming to an end, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have confirmed they have no plans to halt sale of the blossoming Starter Pack presently offering the same deal in Europe - for 425 GBP or 599 Euro.

The end of the Australian offer will have no impact on the pack here, which is not time limited, we're told. Despite such assurances some commentators might contend that Sony are plotting a more serious price cut in Australia and possibly across Europe too, with hints emerging that the platform holder could announce a 'proper' cut rather than just an enhanced bundle, at Leipzig come the end of August.
