Word on the interweb grapevine informs us that new action title Left 4 Dead will be in attendance at next month's Quake Con shindig in Dallas, what's more, gamers will be able to go hands-on with the new game, being developed by Turtle Rock and Valve.

Left 4 Dead promises a survival-horror shooter experience, bolstered by co-op play. QuakeCon takes place in Dallas, Texas from August 2nd to the 5th, and the developers of the new game will be on site to answer questions and take eager gamers on tours of the new title.

Left 4 Dead looks like a superior action title, thanks to the co-op play and more than a smattering of style, and it will be interesting to see how this new adventure is looking at QuakeCon - for those lucky enough to be attending the event, at which news on id's next game is also expected.

Left 4 Dead is due out on the PC and Xbox 360 later this year.
