Video Marketplace for Europe, Disney enlisted
Xbox 360 Elite console bound for PAL regions, too
Upping the ante still further in their pre-E3 press briefing, Microsoft have focussed on their plans for the Xbox Live Video Marketplace, the platform holder highlighting the pioneering nature of the service - so far only released in the USA.
Peter Moore notes that the service currently offers over 2000 hours of entertainment from over 28 networks and studios, with 125 million USD so far spent. This looks likely to increase, however, with MS lifting the lid on a new deal with Disney which will cover a number of big-name releases such as classics Tarzan, Pooh's Heffalump Movie, Atlantis, Hercules, Emperor's New Groove, Armageddon, Sky High, Waterboy, Bad Company, Unbreakable, Coyote Ugly, Deja Vu, Primeval, The Queen and Venus.
More big news: These films will all come in high-definition and all are available from now. What's more, all Disney releases will now follow on the service, too.
While the Video Marketplace has so far only been released in the United States, Moore announces that Canadian and European services will follow this autumn, with a date of August 24th mooted as MS promise to deliver the high-definition video service to the world.
He then drops another bombshell by confirming the Xbox Elite for release in PAL regions.
