Japanese publisher Capcom's latest financial reporting reveals that the Xbox 360 and PS3's Resident Evil 5 will now be released in 2008 - not this year as had been previously mooted.

The survival-horror title, arguably Capcom's most important upcoming release, is omitted from the company's line-up for the financial year, which implies a release after April 2008. Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 4, The Umbrella Chronicles, and Devil Kings 2 Heroes will instead the lead the charge.

A new Mega Man cartoon series has been suggested too, with Capcom promising stronger movie and cartoon tie-ins with their games. Capcom have yet comment on the release plans for RE5 in Europe and other PAL regions.

More Capcom chatter as we get it.
