Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike developer Valve Software have revealed today that they have shelved the previously planned 'Black Box', a PC pack which would have bundled Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2 together sans the original Half-Lfe 2 and Episode One.

Valve marketing boss Doug Lombardi told US games site IGN that the company will now focus on one pack, The Orange Box, which will be created for the PC, Xbox and PS3. This offering will bundle together all 5 titles, though PC owners will be given separate product codes for Episode Two, Episode One, and of course the original Half-Life 2.

"This way a PC Orange Box owner can give away their Half-Life 2 or Episode One unused Steam product codes if they don't need a copy of those games," says Lombardi.

A release in October is planned, presently.
