Google Reader hits Wii
New service for Ninty's web channel
Those of you with a Wii console and a Google account might be interested to know that Google Reader is now available on Nintendo's innovative game-gizmo. The feed reading service was unofficially available via the Opera browser on the Wii interweb channel from the word go, but now Google have spent a few minutes adding an extra layer of polish to the service, the result being an 'official' release for the console.
The Google Reader now boasts an improved user-interface specifically created for the console, and is likely to prove popular with the more tech savvy Wii players. You can import previously created RSS and Atom subscriptions, and you can now quickly move between new items.
The basic premise behind the Reader, whether you're PC or a Wii user, is that you can draw all the internet services and information you use into one place - one Google engineer describing the service as an 'inbox for the web'.
