Square Enix have lifted the proverbial lid on a couple of new titles focussed on the latest consoles, at an event taking place on the eve of their weekend party showcase thing, at which a few surprises are still expected.

The first game to have leapt out of the bag is Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeons for the Wii console. We're promised turn-based dungeon battling, as players attempt to recover the memories of some missing villagers, who's memories have been pinched by a mysterious force.

A PS3 and Xbox 360 title was also unveiled, called Last Remnant. As with the Chocobo outing details are scant but an RPG affair in the Final Fantasy mould sounds like the order of the day, complete with a revised battle system. This is a big title for Square Enix, by the sound of things, the developer hoping to spark a major new series with this debutant.

Last Remnant has been confirmed for a simultaneous North America - Japan launch, though we've no word on PAL dates as yet. More on all these various new titles as the Japanese publisher fill us in, hopefully over the weekend.
