Nomura looks beyond Kingdom Hearts
'New series' planned
Kingdom Hearts designer Tetsuya Nomura looks set to take a well-earned break from the RPG series, with Kingdom Hearts III set to be put on the back-burner, while Nomura and his team work on a whole new series.
The producer won't reveal exactly what he's working on next, but something similar in approach to Kingdom Hearts will be the order of the day, the series being most famous blending famous Square RPG characters with favourites from Disney's animations. Perhaps another imaginative cross-over of some kind?
"First, it's not Kingdom Hearts III," Dengeki PlayStation were told on the new project. "Of course, because we're calling it a 'new' series, it won't be KHIII. Also, it's a series, so it probably won't be just one title."
Nomura has in the past promised news of new Kingdom Hearts games this year, with next-gen offerings said to be on the cards. Quite where this news leaves such announcements is unknown, however. More on all this as we hear more.
