When was Infinium Labs formed and for what purpose?

Infinium Labs Corporation was formed in October 2002 as a global entertainment/gaming company. Infinium Labs intends to create a gaming console, the Phantom, and delivery system that will dominate the game playing entertainment industry. The company intends to attain a competitive dominance in the market by creating a robust gaming console that will appeal to a wide audience with its ease of use, quality assurance and robust delivery system.

What can you tell me about the management team?

The company’s management team is comprised of highly experienced technology veterans and entrepreneurs. Many members of the team have worked together on previous ventures. They bring together knowledge of the industry, extensive research experience and unique administrative skills.

Infinium Labs was formed by veteran entrepreneurs who have a successful track record in building large scale companies and advanced architectures for supporting massive eCommerce and enterprise applications. Combining skills from Telco, Data Communications, Digital Rights Management, Software Development and Security, the management team brings together a unique array of skills to develop the most robust next generation gaming console and delivery network on the market.

What are the specifications of the Phantom platform?

At this time we are not announcing the specifications. We can say that this console will have faster processing speeds and greater storage capacity.

What are some of the key features of the Phantom?

  • Most robust gaming console
  • State of the art design and architecture
  • A large number of preloaded games that appeal to a wide variety of users and to their specific gaming needs
  • Online connectivity for multi player gaming
  • Ability to play against PC gamers online
  • Seamless upgrades and patch management
  • A multi tiered subscription service that meets the needs of casual, moderate and hard-core game players
  • Demo games before purchasing or subscribing

The Phantom is cross platform. What does that mean?

Phantom players will be able to play against other Phantom players as well as PC gamers.

Will the Phantom have a DVD player?

No, the Phantom is broadband reliant.

I SMELL A HOAX! if these "veteran entrepreneurs" are so good why are they leaving it to the last minute. The way they are going they cant expect to out do X-Box. And to outdo PS2, they have to be mad to try a stratergy like this. Look at PS2 sales when it was releaed. It was huge. More PS2 consoles sold in one day than in a month of x-box sales. This is just some nobody tring to fool the people. I wont accept anything until i get some proof.

hay is this thing for real or is it just something thought of if it is when is it coming out . this system sounds like a realy good idea

    4. Reality Unregistered 5 years ago

This thing will flop. Big time.

    5. Nick Unregistered 5 years ago

I don't know..they're not competing on the same front. Sounds a lot more like the old 'set top box' paradigm. Frankly, if I could have all the benefits of PC online gaming without the exorbitant price, I'd consider it....

    6. anjiro Unregistered 5 years ago

Damn, so much for the hoax, I'm beginning to think these people are serious.... But we'll see, if you observe carefully, they more emphasize on the 'system', okay, so their console will be the 'best', but will it get enough publishers and developers to make many games for it? Cause' if that's not the case, it'll most likely become like the scenario with the Gamecube.

    7. Nick Unregistered 5 years ago

Is it not PC compatible? I don't think finding developers will be the problem...hence the initial 35,000 games boast.

    8. Sam Unregistered 5 years ago

      Still sceptical here.

The Controller looks so big just like the heavy and uncomfortable Xbox controllers

    10. juan Unregistered 5 years ago

      what company makes it.

    11. gordon Unregistered 5 years ago

Yes, I think it will definatley flop also. The market is moving towards multimedia units. i.e console/dvd/cd/networking/online.
This is a good idea, that will never conjure enough support in the long run

    12. mark Unregistered 5 years ago

look quite scary and giant like the x-box with its dinner plate controllers but sounds like a console that will be more successfull than the x-box

    13. Sam Unregistered 5 years ago

More succesful then the x-box? This will be the Coleco to the Ataris of the big 3. Or 2, seeing how well the cube is performing.

    14. mike Unregistered 5 years ago

      I am skeptical too
take a look at the controls, the buttons on the right side are obstructed by the thumb joystick.

      This is an hoax

    15. joe Unregistered 5 years ago

this is the next 3do or jaguar, maybe they will bring it out,but who will buy it? no-one.

    16. John Unregistered 5 years ago

Definetly gonna flop like Dreamcast probably worse than Dreamcast. Their biggest mistake is having to load the games on your system. What if it erases then what? I will not even consider buying this system. And it is an untrue statement saying that they are not competing with Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. They are in the business of video games which means that they are indeed competition.

    17. FireH Unregistered 5 years ago

geez people, if ur even thiking about buying this then u probably already have a pc, so do everyone a favor and save ur self some money, go buy a friggin pc game (40$)

    18. Ricardo Unregistered 5 years ago

hmmm...it sounds kinda hoaxie, im skeptical, and whoever is making it (if real) is unkown, plus they dont say anything concrete, just things like "experienced technologists" and things that really dont tell u anything. It sounds fake, plus it looks cheap and that controller looks an awful lot like the xbox one. i dont believe this.

    19. Tobydoby Unregistered 5 years ago

If they only have computergrafix and not real pix, the chances of a hoax is there...big time. And how the hell are they going to compete in an already oversaturated marked without heavy pre-advertising. HOAAAAXXXX!

      'phantom' duh!!

      don't you guys know anything?

    21. nose@spregg.fslife.co.uk Unregistered 5 years ago

I don't see why they would hoax, what can they get out of it? What a waste of time... Well yeah.. I rekon that it is a hoax anyway, since there are already like 4 newish consoles out there, all flopping, I think they would have left it a while longer, so gamers become desperate. But aaah why would they say stuff like "it doen't have DVD" and it's cons... I'm running away. I'm not much of a gamer anyhoo.

    22. sorry Unregistered 5 years ago

I just realised something. this isn't a hoax. if you go to www.infiniumlabs.com
there is a proper site with all this big intro and news about the company and what have you. www.phantom.net at the moment is just crappy pics so it may be a hoax since it is supposed to come out this christmas and evryone new about the xbox before a year i must say, and even then it had more than just pics.

    23. JMG114 Unregistered 5 years ago

Isn't there already a machine out that can play PC games broadband..? Isn't it called a... PC..?

    24. Rick Unregistered 5 years ago

Yeah I saw the website too and its extremely dull and inconcrete, the "in depth" look at the phantom was just like three sentences long. VERY in depth. Plus there isnt more in it then whats on all the news going around. Yep, its a hoax.

If you want my opinion its never coming out cause its BOOLLSHIIITTT

Please sign contracts with all the major companies so we can all play xbox, ps2, and gamcube games. (at least sign rockstar games)

    28. Bob Unregistered 5 years ago

So this just will seem to upgrade my PC gaming? Cross gendering my PC/console ? Games will be better ? Games are the same ?
By now we would have know more on this "State of the Art" system. Release 12/2003 ? Not seeing it. If they are going to go big, you need to have a wider range that this. Ehh... Anything could happen.

I think i will just wait till 2005 for playstation 3. especially at the ridiculous price you all are asking for it. I mean hell, at least the playstation can play a fricken dvd.
What the hell were they thinking when the designed this thing.
